Brambles English Tea Room

I’m just getting back from a week in Naples Florida. You know I am always on the look out for tea rooms or café’s when travelling. This trip was no different; Paul and I were exploring the Old Naples area. It is full of great shops and eateries.

Fifth Avenue offers several exclusive boutiques where you will find the different and unusual. I was window shopping and we wandered just off the avenue to a little lane and there we happened upon “Brambles Tea Room”.

You know we had to go in and have tea. The first thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean it was. You can see from the pictures it is a delightful tea room.

We had the opportunity to speak with the owners. Chris and Heather Burgess have immigrated from England to become proprietors of Brambles Tea Room. While the tea room has been in Naples for about seventeen years, the couple have enjoyed owning it for two years.

As you can imagine they offer afternoon tea with the trimmings to go with it. I ordered their light afternoon tea fair and enjoyed the petite sandwiches and scones. Heather tells me that the afternoon tea is a customer favorite.

Paul being the Irishman that he is was really happy to find they also offer some other menu specialties. Sheppard’s Pie is a favorite of his and of course he had to order it. He enjoyed every bite. I noticed he got into a discussion with Chris having to tell him his own recipe secrets, but I don’t think Chris needs to change a thing about his pie. It’s really good.

They carry about 40 teas including a grouping of specialty teas. I ordered a pot of Crème Brulee (a wonderful black tea with subtle caramel flavor ) to enjoy with my lunch. I especially like to find teas that do not need sweetener and the crème brulee was perfect with nothing added. In a word delicious, I was happy they offered this loose leaf for sale. I can continue enjoying it since I purchased some to bring home with us.

For those of you spending the winter months in the Naples area of Florida you will want to visit Brambles. Heather tells me it is best to make reservations come November as tea lovers and snow birds gravitate to their door in increasing numbers.

I cannot become a weekly regular, but I will become a vacation regular to Brambles Tea Room.
