Many people enjoy drinking iced tea all year round, no matter what the weather. It is a satisfying drink. In hot sticky weather it is especially refreshing.

Drinking iced green tea can help you get your daily dose of anti oxidants. We know that loose green tea is rich in anti oxidants. We also know that anti oxidants fight free radicals in our bodies that are causing damage to our systems. Many people drink loose leaf green tea as a preventative action against illness.



Use loose leaf green tea in this iced green tea recipe

Iced green tea recipe

4 Cups of filtered water
3 Tablespoons loose green tea
3 1/2 Tablespoons of honey
4 cups very cold filtered water

Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil and then allow it to cool to about 185*
While the water is heating fill a tea sac with 3 tablespoons of loose green tea leaves
Pour the heated water over the tea leaves
Allow the leaf tea to steep, or brew for 3 minutes
Remove the tea sac
Add the honey and stir well

You now have a concentrated iced tea

You may at this point refrigerate the tea concentrate for later use. It is also fine to continue to make the finished product. To continue with the recipe:

Add 4 cups of very cold or iced water

Iced tea glasses and an iced tea spoon

Serve in iced tea glasses filled with ice. Offer any guests an iced tea spoon in case they need more sweetener. There are many ways to garnish this iced tea. Try fresh mint for color and taste. You may want to add slices of lemon or oranges to add a citrus flavor.
